I hadn’t listened to this song in decades but going through my music collection the other night, it popped into my head. It appears on the very first Whitlams album, Introducing, and features the original trio. It’s a beautiful and simple piece, with Tim Freedman’s usual lyrical flare. In a theme that would run through a lot of his songs, he’s bemoaning the loss of a woman. What makes his lyrics so interesting is the use of the everyday and non-sequiturs, images that elevate it beyond the usual.
Enjoy your song of the day!
