Thanks for the write-up. I found the whole Britney _thing_ creepy at the time, and I appreciate people going back and taking *her* seriously and trying to separate out her experience from the Britney Spears marketing.
I was never comfortable with how she was treated. Justin Timberlake was an ass at the time, telling the world he took her virginity and I hated him every since. She was treated as a complete commodity and outside of her fans no one took her seriously as an artist so I'm happy to talk about her work. I think Toxic is one of the most perfect pieces of pop ever and if you listen to the raw vocals before auto tune she still sounds great.
